Paul Hatvany has been unlucky in a couple of games featured in this section but here however. he gets his own luck after a tense battle ends in a draw.

Post match analysis reveals that Mark missed the opportunity to take a decisive advantage on move 45.,where an immediate G5 would be enough to finish off our wily veteran, within a few moves. On this occasion luck was on Paul’s side and the game continued for another ten moves before both players agreed to share the point in a totally drawn position

The result was enough to guarantee that Trowbridge won the match 2.5 to 1.5.
