This is the match between Arkell and Hebden in the final round of the Blackpool Congress Open Section. There were four players on 3.5 so watch out for some fireworks here as both sides throw everything forward in an attempt to win.

 

The final position sees Arkell with two connected passed pawns on the 6th and 7th ranks but unable to avoid perpetual check.

 

Thus the game finishes as a draw allowing Stuart Haslinger to win the tournament outright.
