Here we see our esteemed retired Head Teacher in action against Robbie Coates. Roy was playing for Trowbridge against a very strong Brown Jacks (A Team) and sadly this was the only share of the points we managed to achieve. Roy managed a very respectable draw against his significantly higher graded opponent who was just unable to deal with Roy’s cunning and guile.

 

Neither side was able to penetrate the other’s camp

and the draw was agreed after 37 moves, Robbie not confident he could outwit Roy in this endgame. There is however an awful lot of complexity in the play left as ‘drawn’ and enclosed are some animated gifs of lines contemplated by our resident analyst - Chip man!
